Surajpur to Get State-of-the-Art Central Library and Reading Zone with Rs 441.49 Lakh Allocation

Raipur 09 July 2025// In a major boost to educational infrastructure in north Chhattisgarh, the state government has sanctioned Rs 441.49 lakh for the establishment of a modern Central Library and Reading Zone in Surajpur district for the financial year 2025–26. The initiative, driven by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, is expected to directly benefit thousands of students and youth in the region.Planned with a capacity of 250 seats, the upcoming library will feature digital study resources, e-learning modules, dedicated reading zones, internet access, and a technology-enabled library management system. The facility is aimed at serving school students, competitive exam aspirants, and literature enthusiasts alike.Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, while expressing gratitude to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Finance Minister OP Choudhary for approving the project, stated “This is not just a building—it is a foundation for the bright future of our youth. It is a significant step toward building a knowledge-driven society.”The project has been widely welcomed in Surajpur, with students, parents, and local citizens hailing the move as a landmark decision in the district’s academic development. Many see it as a long-overdue step toward promoting regional equity, educational empowerment, and a culture of serious study in aspirational districts.
