25 agust , raipur,NIT Raipur organised Green-Ganesha idol making Competition, Participants Enthusiastically Crafted Enchanting Idols of Lord Ganesha.- Public & Media Relations CellNational Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur’s Go-Green Club organized an eco-friendly Green-Ganesha Idol Making Competition on August 24. The objective of this competition was to spread awareness about environmental conservation and to make the traditional Ganesh festival more eco-sensitive.The program was organised under the guidance of Dr. N.V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT Raipur and Dr. Manoj Kumar Chopkar, Dean (Student Welfare). The coordinators of this program were Go Green Club’s Faculty in Charge Dr. Govind Gupta and Dr. Kabita Biswas Sharma. The judges of the competition were Dr. Shailonil Sahu, Dr. Shruti S. Nagdeve and Dr. G. Srinivasu. The participants included students from various schools of Raipur as well as students of the institute. Nearly 200 students, ranging from class 1 to college level, enthusiastically took part in the competition.The participants were divided into three groups, and the committee provided clay and all necessary sculpting materials. With great enthusiasm, the students created beautiful clay idols of Lord Ganesha, showcasing their artistic skills. At the conclusion of the program, the winners were announced, and Dr. Sudhakar Pandey, Regional Coordinator, Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and HoD, Information Technology, presented prizes to the winners.In the first group (ages 1–6), the winners included: Anay Verma, Anya Vishwakarma, Vakta, Mushka Chandrawadi, Kartik Gupta, Saanvi, Jayashnavi, Aanchal Chura, Tivika Sona, Ved Sahu, Devansh Dheevar, Sachin Vishwakarma, Shreyansh Sharma, Chaitali Sharma, Riddhi Sharma, and Vidushi Jha.In the second group (ages 7–12), the first prize went to Samhiksha Wadekar, Aditi Kushwaha, and Lokneeta Manikpur; the second prize was won by Vijaylaxmi Jhadwad and Rajit Dahonia; and the third prize went to Yogesh Sahu.In the third group (college students), the first prize was awarded to Yogendra Kumar Sahu and Mansi Sahu; the second prize went to Ayush and Bhavika; and the third prize was awarded to Raunak Kumar, Divyam Sawar, Bhaskar Halavath, and Suryakant.The Green-Ganesha Competition at NIT Raipur not only took a significant step toward celebrating Ganeshotsav in an eco-friendly way but also ensured that all participants became more conscious about environmental conservation.
