Sukma, August 22, 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Sukma Police and district administration have launched a heartfelt initiative to ensure that police personnel deployed in remote and difficult areas do not feel away from the warmth of the festival.

Under the leadership of Sukma SP Mayank Gurjar, the ‘Raksha Sutra’ campaign has been organised to send Rakhi and the message of affection, respect and gratitude to police personnel serving in far-flung areas of the district.

Many police personnel deployed in sensitive and remote areas remain away from their families for long periods while performing their duties. Through this initiative, Rakhis will be delivered to them so that they can feel the affection, blessings and emotional support associated with Raksha Bandhan.

SP Mayank Gurjar connects personnel with the spirit of family :-

The initiative led by SP Mayank Gurjar is aimed at boosting the morale of police personnel and reminding them that, despite being away from their families, they have the support and affection of society.

The Rakhis are not merely threads of protection but a symbol of respect, trust, affection and gratitude towards the personnel who continue to perform their duties under challenging circumstances.

Rakhis to reach personnel in remote areas :-

Rakhis collected under the ‘Raksha Sutra’ campaign will be sent to police personnel posted in remote and sensitive parts of Sukma district. The initiative will help bring the festive spirit of Raksha Bandhan to personnel who are unable to celebrate the occasion with their families.

The District Women and Child Development Department has also contributed to the initiative by presenting Rakhis for the police personnel.

Sukma is a remote and sensitive district where police personnel often spend long periods away from their families while maintaining security and serving local communities.
