CM Sai Pay Tribute, Former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Shrigopal Vyas Honored with State Honors in Raipur
HNS24 NEWS November 8, 2024 0 COMMENTSRaipur, 7 November 2024 – Former Rajya Sabha MP and renowned social worker Shrigopal Vyas was accorded a final farewell with state honors on Thursday. Following his passing, Vyas had donated his body to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur, as per his wishes, for medical research and education.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Former Governor Shri Ramesh Bais, and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao attended the last rites to pay their emotional tributes. Chief Minister Sai offered his respects at Vyas’ residence, while Former Governor Bais paid tribute at AIIMS Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister Sao expressed heartfelt condolences, describing Vyas as an inspirational figure whose exemplary work would continue to guide future generations.
In his tribute, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao said, “ Vyas’s entire life was a beacon of dedication and service. We will strive to follow the path he set and honor his contributions to society.”
Other notable leaders who paid their respects included MP Brijmohan Agarwal, who said that Gopal Vyas was a very gentleman and his demise is a loss to society. Revenue Minister Tankaram Verma, MLA Rajesh Munat, MLA Anuj Sharma, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, former Assembly Speaker Gaurishankar Agarwal, former MLA Arun Vora, Pawan Sai, Narayan Namdev, former President of Chhattisgarh Hindi Granth Academy Shashank Sharma, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Avinash Mishra, District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep were present in the tribute program.
In a Cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Sai had decided to honor the legacy of the democracy fighter with a state honors farewell. In line with this decision, Collector Dr Gaurav Singh oversaw the arrangements for the final tribute, ensuring that Shrigopal Vyas received state honors in recognition of his significant contribution.
