Raipur, 4 April 2023/ Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel attended ‘Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav’ organized by Sakal Jain Shreesangh at Jain Dadabadi located on MG Road in Raipur. On the occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel offered prayers at the Jain temple in Dadabadi premises and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity of the people of the state. On this occasion, many members of the committee including Chairman Shri Manoj Kothari, Shri Sushil Kochhar, Shri Vijay Gangwal, Shri Paras Chopra from Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav Committee were present.

Addressing the program, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel said that Lord Mahavir was born for the welfare of the society. Messages of this enlightened being are relevant to the society even today. He taught us discretion and mindfulness while utilising the natural resources and to take only what we need from nature. The result of not following this message of his has led to the challenges like global warming. The biggest message of Lord Mahavira is the principle of non-violence. Lord Mahavir’s principle of non-violence is not the principle of the weak. If the world adopts the message of Lord Mahavir, then there will be no war. Today the message of Lord Mahavir is needed more than ever and hence it should be promoted among the masses. Mahatma Gandhi followed the 2600 years old teachings of Lord Mahavir and liberated the country with the power of non-violence. India is the only country to have adopted non-violence for its freedom struggle. This principle of non-violence was taught to us by Lord Mahavira. Lord Mahavir talked about having mercy on the living beings. His message is for the welfare of the world. Chief Minister further said that our government is also following the path shown by Lord Mahavir. We are working diligently towards the welfare and upliftment of labourers and farmers. Jain community is a merchant society. The trading business has grown steadily in the last 4 years. People are getting employment, business is flourishing.
