Durg 26 December 2022/ “Earlier I was a housewife and I had enough spare time to do some income-generating work. But, I was unaware as to what to do. When I came to know about the economic activities being run in state-run Gauthans, I also decided to join it to earn my own income, said Revati Sahu of Patharia village falling under Durg district.

She added that she got associated with a group producing vermicompost from cow dung. The group generated an income of Rs 3.50 lakh by selling the vermicompost which was purchased by nearby farmers. We felt the need for a vehicle for transportation of vermicompost. After everyone’s consent, we purchased a mini truck from the savings which made the transportation of vermicompost easy. Now, the vehicle is also given on rent, which generates additional income.

Praising the efforts of the state, Revati said that the state government led by Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel has made commendable efforts towards women empowerment. We are now more confident than ever. The best part is that we have just started and we have got such good results.
