Initiative to establish the identity of products from Chhattisgarh across the world – Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel
HNS24 NEWS September 20, 2019 0 COMMENTSRaipur : date 20 September 2019, To promote agricultural, horticulture-related and forest produce handloom, kosa and various products of Chhattisgarh at national-international level, three-day International Buyers-Sellers Meet has been organized in capital city Raipur. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the meet today. 57 representatives and buyers of 16 countries and 60 representatives from various states of India participated in the meet. In the inaugural programme, total eight MoUs were signed, including four MoUs with Chhattisgarh Rajya Mandi Board and four others with Chhattisgarh State Handloom Co-operative Federation. In the meet, Agriculture and Biotechnology and Water Resource Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey and Chief Secretary Mr. Sunil Kujur were also present.
In his address to the programme, Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel welcomed the guests from abroad, on behalf of the hard-working farmers from the state. He said that farmer welfare is the top-priority of State Government . Such events will promote direct connection between producers and consumers, and provide international exposure for the products, which will largely benefit the farmers and handloom weavers of Chhattisgarh.
He said that Farmers of Chhattisgarh are laborious, dedicated and honest. Raipur is not only the capital of Chhattisgarh but also the capital of various agriculture produce and herbal medicines. Since ancient times in Chhattisgarh, medicinal herbs such as kodo, kudki, ragi, sanva are being produced in traditional and organic manner. International exposure will not only help farmers and weavers earn better profit but will also provide quality products at reasonable price to the consumers. He informed that he has requested Central Government to make International Airport and Cargo Hub in the capital city Raipur.
Chief Minister interacted with the buyers and representatives from the country and abroad in the programme. On the occasion, Chief Minister launched the logo of ‘Produce of Chhattisgarh’, which will be used for branding of handloom, handicraft and agricultural products of Chhattisgarh. Mr. Baghel informed about State Government’s ambitious scheme ‘Narva, Garua, Gharua, Bari’. He added the this scheme would help in conservation of water resources, development of livestock and it will also promote production of organic fruits and vegetables.
In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel and Agriculture Minister Mr. Ravindra Choubey, eight MoUs have been signed with eight companies to provide national-international market to Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture and Handloom products.Chhattisgarh State Agricultural Marketing Board signed MoU with Bangladesh Fresh Fruits Imports Association, Bangladesh Agro Processors Association, Greek Food Corridor Greece and Europe-India Agriculture Forum. Tata Company’s brand Taneira signed MoU with Chhattisgarh Handloom Development and Marketing Federation for Handloom fabric and attires. This brand of Tata Company will support in the field of skill development, monetization and documentation for sarees and attires weaved using natural fabrics. This will help the weavers of Chhattisgarh to improve quality of their product so that they may earn more profit in national and international markets. Four MoUs were signed by Tata Company Limited, Paramon Industries Pvt Limited, Ek Gaon Group Technology Private Limited and Sant Ravidas MP Handicraft and Handloom Development Corporation for providing global market exposure to Chhattisgarh’s handloom and silk products.
Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel inaugurated the exhibition at the Three-Day International Buyers and Sellers Meet commenced today at Raipur. In the exhibition held on the occasion, 60 types of agricultural, forest and handloom products have been put on display. This includes variety of paddy, rice, herbs, and other agricultural and horticultural products being produced in the state have been put on display. Likewise, wide range of forest produce of Chhattisgarh and handloom products have also been kept on display at the exhibition. The exhibition would be opened for common people on September 22.
