Raipur, 10 August 2024//n a touching exchange between two state leaders, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister  Vishnu Deo Sai expressed heartfelt gratitude upon receiving a basket of Kakori mangoes from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath.

Chief Minister  Sai lauded Uttar Pradesh’s unique identity as both a land of mangoes and great freedom fighters, commending  Adityanath’s initiative to unite these two legacies.  Sai described this gesture as an inspiring way to honour freedom fighters, allowing people to weave memories of these great patriots and their struggles into their most cherished moments.

Sai also highlighted the deep historical and emotional bond between Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, referring to them as North Kosala and South Kosala. He emphasised that the people of both regions were once united under the reign of King  Ram.  Sai mentioned that while Lord  Ram was born in Ayodhya, his mother, Mata Kaushalya, hailed from Chhattisgarh, further strengthening the cultural ties between the two states. In a letter of thanks,  Sai conveyed his emotional connection to the gift, reminiscing that Lord  Ram might have carried similar baskets of juicy mangoes during visits to his maternal home. He remarked that the mangoes of Chhattisgarh have a comparable taste, which likely reminded Lord  Ram of his homeland during his exile.

It is noteworthy that, Chief Minister  Yogi Adityanath, in his accompanying letter, highlighted the abundant mango production in Uttar Pradesh, emphasising the state’s well-known varieties. He specifically mentioned Kakori, a place of historical significance in India’s freedom struggle, as a major hub for mango cultivation.  Adityanath also informed  Sai about the Uttar Pradesh Government’s efforts to market these mangoes under the ‘Kakori’ brand name.
